This year Claire Matthews, Sara Matthews and Tom Suckling are attempting Windermere 2way for two Charities.
The donations we receive will be split between Isabel Hospice and Solving Kids Cancer Arianna’s Campaign.
Only a few months ago we lost another one of our swimming Mums (Diana Mariotti) to this dreadful disease and once again the Isabel Hospice were incredible just like they were for Claire and Sara's mum Jennifer Matthews. Some words from Leanda, Diana's eldest of three daughters.
'Thank you to Claire, Sara and Tom for letting us choose a Charity for their swim. Without the AMAZING care from the Isabel Hospice not just for our Mum but for all of us girls too, we would never have been able to keep mum as pain free and comfortable as she was in the final stages of her battle. The support they gave us as a family was incredible, we could not have done any of it without their help.'

Arianna is only 6 years old and has been diagnosed with stage 4 high risk Neuroblastoma. Arianna has a tough road ahead. Neuroblastoma is rare and the survival rate is only 50%. Once Arianna beats this cancer there is a 60% chance that it will return. Relapses tend to be more aggressive with the survival rate dropping to 5%. This is why we are desperate to raise the funds needed to help Arianna get the treatment she needs.
These funds will be used to access treatment abroad once Arianna has completed her treatment in the UK. Unfortunately not all treatments are covered by the NHS.
The treatment we are focused on is the Bivalent vaccine in New York. This vaccine reduces the chance of relapse. We want to give Arianna as big a chance as possible and are raising these funds to be in a position to take her wherever we need to go to in order to receive the best possible treatment.
Thank you all in advance for any donation you are able to give.
Claire, Sara and Tom.
