A Cool & Wet Charlottesville Summer
Hey Folks!
Last year we were able to help hundreds of kids have an amazing summer at many of the Charlottesville pools because you amazing people gave enough to make sure it happened.
Families in Charlottesville are asked to pay $6.00 per pool visit or $29.00 for a summer pass per child. A long way from the $0.75 I paid as a child. Let's help these families ensure an amazing summer for their kids. Afterall, having fun when school is out is the last thing folks should have to worry about.
Me and my friends would love to send at least 200 kids to the pool for the entire summer for free and at the same time bring awareness to the issue that holds race and class at its core.
I'm sure my teaching friends would agree that a great summer could equate to a happier student.
Daily passes are $6.00, but Summer passes are $29.00. Basically, for the price of a night out, you can help a great kid have an amazing summer!

Darnell Lamont Walker and Brandy Garrison spearhead effort to keep pools happy. Both are parents and from Charlottesville Virginia and realize how important this is, and how impactful it will be.
2. Why Are You Doing This?
There isn't much to do in Charlottesville if you don't have much money. One of the many joys children get in the summer is spending time in the park and at the pools with their friends. We are doing this to make sure they are happy, and to help their parents by letting them worry about less costly things. Also, we've been children before, and we are parents now, and we know how this one small thing can change so much.
3. How Is The Money Spent?
We've already begun purchasing passes, and we plan to continue doing so throughout the summer. We've covered what scholarships couldn't, and covered what parents who weren't awared scholarships couldn't.
4. How Can Parents Contact You?
Last year, we were able to set up a facebook page, and meeting locations around the city. Hundreds of parents are logged in and in contact with us. Our facebook is https://www.facebook.com/groups/cvilleswims/. There, you can find our contact information and contact us directly.
5. How Are Passes Distributed:
Three days a week, we are available to meet families at the park and recs department to purchase passes since each pass is assigned to to immediately. You may contact us directly by going to put Facebook group.
