in September 2023 I was diagnosed with bowel cancer . I had surgery a month later and thankfully all went well and I am now as fit as ever .

I am taking in the challenge of swim Windermere in September.an 11 mile swim which if the weather and conditions are favourable will take me six hours .

i have done a lot of endurance events ( marathons Ironman triathlons ) and can honestly say I have never trained as hard as I have for this ( those of you who know me know that that may be a low bar )

I would be grateful for any money you can spare for this wonderful charity (especially as they have created the simon bunting colorectal cancer research grant .as such awards are usually posthumous I shall continue to buck the trend as long as I am able
