SWIM TO KOREA: HELP ELLA GET TO SOUTH KOREA
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Ella, I'm 16 years old, and I've been lucky enough to be selected for the 2023 World Scout Jamboree in South Korea.
I am very grateful to have been picked as one of two from my local South Queensferry Scout Group to travel to the Jamboree. It will be held in SaeManGeum, Jeollabuk-do in the summer of 2023, and I couldn't be more excited. The Jamboree, which has been taking place since 1920, will host around 50,000 scouts from all over the world, and around 3,240 of these Scouts will be from the UK.
I'm delighted to be part of Unit 8; the group of Explorers, Scouts and Guides I will be travelling with to South Korea. Since our selection in 2021, we have been meeting and working together as a team to get to know each other and prepare for the Jamboree. I am very lucky to be going with such interesting and kind people.
Travelling to South Korea offers an excellent opportunity to see the world from a different perspective and experience a new culture. It will be a great chance to meet people I would likely never have to chance to otherwise.
However, due to the distance of the Jamboree, it does come with a considerable cost. The total sum I need to raise in order to pay for accommodation, travel, and the necessary equipment is £3 995.
To help with this effort, I have set myself a challenge of swimming 10km (400 lengths of the pool). My aim is to complete it in 2.5 hours. I would be grateful if you would consider supporting this challenge by sponsoring me to do it. I will be swimming at Queensferry High School on the 28th of January, and although spectators aren't allowed, my mum will be sure to take lots of photos to prove I did it.
I would be very grateful for any contributions you can make, although please only donate if you are able to.
Thank you very much!
