No dia 19 de julho, vamos nadar pela Leonor na Travessia Lisboa-Cascais GP Swim 20Km.

A Leonor, uma bebé de apenas 1 ano, diagnosticada com encefalopatia epilética neonatal, uma doença rara e grave causada por uma mutação genética, precisa da nossa ajuda!

Apaixonados por águas abertas somos um grupo de amigos que dedica este desafio à Leonor e à Associação Dom Maior (www.donmaior.pt) que dá apoio a crianças com doenças raras e necessidades especiais.

Todos os donativos contam. Pequenos ou grandes vão diretamente para a reabilitação, tratamentos e terapias desta princesa e dar-lhe a oportunidade de enfrentar a vida com coragem e esperança.

We are a team of passionate open-water swimmers – Patrícia, Frederico, João, Miguel, Luana, Nuno and José Marques – preparing to take on the incredible challenge of swimming 20 kilometers from Lisbon to Cascais in the GP Swim 20K, on Saturday, July 19, 2025.

But this time, it’s not just about the swim, every stroke will carry a purpose. Every kilometre will be a tribute to strength, resilience, and hope.

We’re dedicating our swim to Leonor, a beautiful one-year-old girl diagnosed with neonatal epileptic encephalopathy, a rare and severe condition caused by a genetic mutation (GABRA1) affecting just 1 in 10 million. She is the daughter of one of our dear colleagues, and her journey has only just begun – one filled with medical challenges, uncertainty, and the need for continuous rehabilitation support.

That’s why we’re swimming for Dom Maior (www.dommaior.pt), a nonprofit organization that provides essential therapy and care for children with disabilities and rare diseases. All funds raised will go directly to support Leonor’s rehabilitation and give her the fighting chance she deserves for a dignified and hopeful life.
