Hi, we’re Gemma Smith and Lesley Charman and we work in the County Durham and Darlington Stroke Service. We’re doing the Great North Swim - 1 mile in lake Windermere - to raise funds to improve the experience of our patients and their relatives.

Stroke is the leading cause of disability in adults in the UK and can have a devastating impact on patients and their loved ones. We’re hoping we can make that experience just slightly more positive in our region.
