This Sunday, I’ll be standing on the start line of the Outlaw Full Triathlon — an endurance event I’ve long aspired to tackle, but not been brave enough to enter!
A 3.8km swim
A 180km cycle
And a marathon, 42.2km run (of sorts)
Why this madness? Because people like Maria (in the photo) would have entered in a heartbeat if it had meant she'd have had more time with her lovely daughter.
I want to raise funds for Cancer Research UK, a charity that needs no introduction, but needs our support.
Cancer affects 1 in 2 of us — and the work this charity does is saving lives every single day. I'm doing this in honour of those we've lost; like Maria, Helen, Keith, Martin, Mike, as well as those fighting now, and the researchers working tirelessly toward a cure.
We all know how cruel cancer can be so if you can donate — no matter how small — you’ll be helping turn my stupidity into something meaningful.
Thank YOU so much for reading / supporting — and wish me luck for Sunday....I'm going to need it!
