I'm Swimming 5 Miles in July to help the American Cancer Society fight for a world without cancer.

On January 18th, 2023, my mother was diagnosed with Stage II B breast cancer. Over the following year I witnessed firsthand her resilience in the face to of a constant cycle of chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation. As she continued to lose hair, weight, and energy each week, it was as if I was watching my mom transform into a different person.

Throughout all of this, our minds kept coming back time and time again to the fact that her treatments were saving her life. Since finishing her final infusion, my mom has taken life by the reins once more, and is now as active, energetic, and motivated as ever.
