Founded in September 2000, Sweetpea, Friends of Rutland Animals is a 501(c)(3)non-profit animal welfare organization dedicated to the rescue, care, and placement of stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals in the Wachusett area and beyond. Sweetpea provides veterinary care and boarding to our animals until they are adopted into good homes, however long that may take.

We are committed to promoting responsible care, educating on the need to spay and neuter, and influencing a beneficial change in the treatment of all animals.

Since a devastating fire in 2015 Sweetpea has worked diligently to return to full operation.

We were finally able to begin rebuilding our shelter and need to get back to saving lives!

Monthly bills are close to 3,200 with Mortgage, Oil, Taxes, Insurance, Alarm Company, plus all property maintenance including lawn car, snow plowing Etc, Etc
