Dog saved by local police and ER staff needs your help
Donation protected
Sadly, on January 31st at approximately 4 pm, Sweetie was shot in the neck twice as a result of a dog fight.
Although I won’t get into the details here, Sweetie was approached by an unleashed dog and ultimately paid the price of irresponsible dog ownership.
At the time of the incident, it was learned that her owners were experiencing homelessness and did not have the means to provide her with the emergency veterinary services she needed to survive this tragic incident.
Fortunately for her, some of our heroes in blue immediately decided they would save her life and drove her to Emergency Veterinary Group in Fort Lauderdale without caring what it would cost them.
At the clinic, without asking questions or making sure they had a credit card on file first, the medical staff at EGS immediately began their life-saving efforts.
Miraculously, one round entered and exited Sweetie’s neck, and the other was lodged in her neck dangerously close to her spine, missing all her vital arteries and nerves. Sweetie was meant to live as despite her massive blood loss, she remained strong, calm, and most importantly, so loving and sweet.
Upon learning about the circumstances surrounding the incident, Emergency Veterinary Group utilized their emergency donation funds to cover her medical bill.
Today, as many of my coworkers and I have come together to foster and care for Sweetie during her recovery, I am coming to you all to help me raise enough money to pay back Emergency Services Group so they may replenish their donation fund in order to be able to continue to help more pets in dire need of emergency medical services.
First responders come into contact all the time with animals abandoned by society and take the financial burden on to help them. Without the help of selfless doctors like the doctors of Emergency Veterinary Group, first responders would not be able to do this.
Please consider donating anything you can and sharing this story as I truly believe that we can make a difference together.
