Sweet Warrior Walker

“Our little warrior Walker was born August 27th at 3:49 am weighing 6lbs 9oz. After spending his first day with Mama and Daddy, the doctors were worried that he was not passing any meconium as well as vomiting green bile after feedings and was quickly taken to the NICU. After many weeks of uncertainty spent between the NICU and CCN floors, Walker was officially diagnosed with Hirschsprungs disease, falling in the 2% for the rarity of his case. He recently underwent his second intensive surgery on 9/18 where they had to remove his entire large intestine and is currently recovering in the NICU while we  await the biopsies to see if the surgeons removed enough or if they will need to go back in and remove part of his small intestine as well. The future will require further surgery and lots of at home care. The road to recovery will be long but he is has already shown us what a strong little boy he is and we know he will continue to inspire us each new day. We cannot thank the NICU/CCN nurses, doctors, surgeons and staff enough for taking care of our baby boy and our hearts and cannot wait to have him home to be whole again. Due to the pandemic visitor restrictions, Mom and Dad have had to split shifts to be at baby boy’s bed side while the other takes care of big sissy at home.”

As many of you all know, Gia and Taylor are the sweetest little family and watching them go through all of this while still having Keegan at home has been heart breaking. Due to the fact that they seem to always be on the run to be with one kiddo then on to the next a GoFundMe seemed the best way to be able to show our support to them. I can’t imagine the stress, heartache, daily burdens that they are facing and I’m praying that this can be a little relief to them in all that they are enduring. If you are able to donate that is great as both Gia and Taylor are self employed but if you are not able to please know that the family appreciates your thoughts and prayers more than you know!
