Virginia is my 11 year old niece; daughter of my sister, Kimberlie and brother-in-law, Clay.
On April 24th Virginia complained to her mother that she couldn’t see out of her left eye. What started with a simple trip to the ophthalmologist turned into a long medical journey that is still continuing. Her ophthalmologist saw swelling on the optic nerve that sent them to WVU for more testing.

As of today she’s been through two admissions to WVU, MRIs, tons of blood work, and very little answers. She has tested positive for a MOG antibody, which they think the cause of her symptoms.
While her vision is returning somewhat, her body is not reacting normally now. Her knees and ankles are locking up and she has a cane to help support her.
Right now Virginia is waiting to see a specialist that knows about the MOG antibody. The good thing is they have an appointment on August 1st, the bad news is that he is located in Boston Massachusetts.
With the hospital admissions, MRIs and testing, and a future trip to Boston with another admission, I’d like to ask the community to help my sister’s family with any monetary support we can provide.

This story is just a very brief overview of Virginia's entire journey.... to to learn more about Virginia’s journey please join my sisters Facebook group: https://m.facebook.com/sweetvirginiasjourney/ and follow along with her blog: https://sweetvirginiasjourney.blogspot.com/
