We are ecstatic to announce that our film, Sweet Thing, has been selected to participate in the 70th Berlin Film Fest in late February, 2020. However, there are some unforeseen costs that will limit our presence there if we are unable to meet them.

Here is what we need:

$2,000: an Electronic Press Kit (EPK), which includes physical materials such as posters, photos, flyers, and various other handouts. 

$900: Bringing Jabari Watkins (Malik) along. The festival said they'd cover the cost of his housing if we are able to fly him out there and pay for his everyday needs. 

$5,000: A press agent/publicist. First impressions matter! For the project to really makes waves at the festival (which is undeniably important), we will need a professional to work night & day to get the word out. This includes reviews, interviews, advertisements and so on. 

Total: $7,650

This project has received tremendous support already but, despite our best efforts, has run out of funds. I can't express how grateful I am for the outreach and kindness that has been shown to the project already, and I fully understand if you aren't capable of involving yourselves any further. This opportunity is understandably huge for all of us, and it would be unfortunate if we aren't able to showcase the film at the best of our abilities. I am doing all that I can but I just don't have the power to get it there on my own.
