Sweet Sadie Sue fights to beat leukemia

On Sunday, October 13th my sweet little niece Sadie Sue had complained to her Mom about her bottom hurting and that’s when Lisa noticed the redness on her thigh and belly area, after a trip to the urgent care they sent them over to Cooks Children’s Hospital. This was all caused by a microscopic tear on her bottom. She has been diagnosed with gas gangrene the infection kills tissue as it rapidly spreads. Within 3 hours it went from nothing but a complaint of her bottom hurting to dead tissue. She was in her first surgery within 4 hours of her complaints. They got the spreading stopped her white blood cell count was almost depleted from fighting such a rapid progressive infection infection. She was given a transfusion and now her blood numbers are starting to make a positive trend. She’s had 3 surgeries throughout this week. As of today’s 3rd surgery they’ve removed more dead tissue, the spread of the infection has stopped, and they think the infection is now gone, now its time to see what tissue survives and which dies. Surgeons are expecting to have to go back in multiple times to remove the tissue. She has 3 large holes from the infection and now the surgeon is bringing on a pediatric plastic surgeon to help with wound care. Sweet angel will still be on heavy antibiotics through the weekend so the no contact order will last through at least Monday. Sweet Sadie Sue has a very long road of recovery but she is and has been such an incredibly strong trooper through this all! And so have both her parents Travis (aka Jon Hale) and Lisa! With this long road to recovery comes mountains of medical bills and days missed from work, any help would be very much appreciated by our family!
