Sweet Penelope's New Knees

Dear friends and family,

Most of you have been lucky enough to spend time with Penelope, the sweetest little monster pup there is. Our sweet little Penelope ruptured one of her Cranial Cruciate Ligaments (the puppy version of an ACL) while running in the park. Her other side is  also torn and on its way to rupturing. Apparently a very common problem among strong, wild little pit bulls. We have taken her to several vets to see what is the best course of action and all have said our girl in need of a double TPLO surgery (two new knees). Penelope has been a champion while she is waiting for her surgery which is on the 24th of February but she is in a lot of pain, all the time, and can no longer go on walks or play and swim. An especially difficult thing for a girl who loves to play as much as her. She will have her surgery on the morning of the 24th and stay overnight at the vet. She then has a long road to recovery ahead of her with two + months where she will have to be very calm and still (wish us luck). We have been told that she will be as good as new when it's all over and promised her that by summer time she will be back to swimming in the river all day, like she loves. 

We know this is a crazy time and a very financially tough time for a lot of people but we're hoping our dear friends might be able to help in any small way for Penelope's surgery which is estimated to cost around $8-9,000.  A really large amount of money at any time but especially now.

If the world were real we'd organize benefit shows or art raffles like good punks ha. Alas, we live in a dystopian plague state so, no such luck. As you may all know, Steph and I are both living off students loans, trying to do hard things. We would deeply appreciate any help with making this happen for Penelope. Any amount would be so so wonderful and generous and help our sweet girl get back to her normal crazy self.
