Help! Max Needs Radiation Treatment
Meera (now called Max) has had a rough go of it. She was picked up as a stray by Dog World Rescue with severe heartworm and respiratory issues. X-rays revealed almost all of her ribs were broken and healed naturally, her front legs and paws have definitely been broken, and her teeth are filed down, indicating that she has spent a fair amount of time on a metal chain. Thanks goodness she was rescued!
Unfortunately though, her journey isn't over. After four months of successful heartworm and respiratory treatment, Max's chronic nosebleeds and trouble breathing led us to discover a tumor growing into her nasal cavity. Luckily, it is in the early stages and would likely respond well to radiation, which has relatively few side effects, but is pricey.
Please consider donating - even just $10, $20, or $50 - to cover the cost of Max's radiation treatment, estimated at almost $6000.00 (cost breakdown below) at the Oncology Center at VCA Leesburg.
When we say she is the sweetest hound you’ll ever meet, we mean it. Somehow despite all she's been through, she rushes over to greet visitors and quickly ingratiates herself in an effort to get belly rubs. She is loving life now that she has a sweet hound sister, a soft couch to snooze on, and hiking adventures on weekends. Her breathing is getting progressively worse and she needs treatment ASAP.
Max has already survived so much, please consider donating to cover the cost of her radiation treatment so that she can finally live the life she deserves.
