Hello, friends! My name is Marshmallow and here is my story. At 11 years young, I was abandoned by my “owners” in an apartment. I made my way to animal control and eventually, to my awesome foster family and friends at The Pittie Stop Rescue. My struggles started right away with a UTI, bad case of kennel cough and suspected Cushings Disease. Cushings can be tough to diagnosis so once my other illnesses were treated, we began the multiple tests to diagnosis. Luckily, it has been determined that I do not have Cushings, much to the surprise of the vets I have seen. Sadly, my struggles don’t end there though as the vets have discovered a large, concerning internal tumor. The tumor is close to my aorta so the approach for care will have to be well planned. I am going on for a (very expensive) CT scan and from there, the vet will decide if the tumor is operable. Although the folks at the rescue are determined to ensure I have the best remaining years possible, all of this is taking a significant toll on their finances and they are concerned about their ability to continue helping other dogs like me.
