sweet marsha's broken wrist
Donation protected
Hello, Edy here, and thank you for even considering donating to this!
My mom, Marsha, fell off of her bike and broke her right wrist on 4/12/2020. She is 65 and lives alone in Nyack, NY. During this time of COVID-19, I cannot be with her because I live in the city and don't want to expose her to it if I have it.
She just got a Medicare plan that does not cover her bills for resetting her wrist and cannot enlist in a new plan until open enrollment in October. The orthopedist she went to is the only one in her county open at this time, so she is just going to have to pay whatever it costs. We found out the the maximum amount this will cost without insurance is....are you sitting....$10,000. The minimum amount it will cost is $6,700.
I set the goal for $10,000 in hopes that we will reach anywhere near that and she can any extra money for food delivery and other services that she won't be able to perform without the use of her hand. It takes 6-8 weeks for a broken wrist to heal.
If you know my mom, you know she is the most selfless, beautiful and giving person around. It kills me that I cannot be with her to take care of her and I felt that this was a way I could help her from afar. She is on unemployment right now and does not have a lot of money so ANY donation would be extremely helpful.
I think she would be mad at me for doing this so if you know her, please do not tell her. I'd love to keep it a surprise.
Thank you again for any contribution or help. I know we are all struggling during this time, so if you cannot contribute, consider sending her a card or a text. She'd appreciate anything, I'm sure.
I love this woman more than life!!!! She is the best!!!! If you know, you know!!! Thank you!!!
