Sweet Little Lucy's Surgery Fund

Friday, May 12th, 2017 our neighbor Nancy’s little puppy, Lucy, bolted out the door and ran to the main street and was hit by a car, who didn’t stop. Nancy had contractors working on her house, so the kitchen gate was down when little Lucy got out. Nancy chased after her but it was too late. Little Lucy is only 4lbs. When Nancy rescued her from a garage full of neglected puppies several months ago she was only 2.2lbs.
She had multiple fractures and had surgery last week to repair her colon and for sepsis. Since then, she has had blood transfusions, pain meds and antibiotics. At that time, doctors said she would need surgery for her broken pelvis, hips and possibly shoulder.
She is currently at Gulf Coast vet hospital in the Galleria. Yesterday, Wednesday, May 17th, she had major repairs on both hips/pelvis. She was really broken up. Even the doctors didn’t expect her to make it, but she is a little fighter!
Today she is a lot of pain so the doctor is increasing and changing her medications and she will get another blood transfusion.
Nancy has been back and forth to the hospital to see her baby and the medical bills are adding up. The first colon reconstruction and critical care cost $8,500. Yesterday, the hip/pelvis surgery with critical care was an additional $6,800. The total cost so far has been $15,000 and daily ICU costs are $1,000-$1,400 per day and little Lucy may need more blood, pain meds and rehab while she heals. 100% of the funds will raised here will go toward little Lucy’s medical bills.
Little Lucy is Nancy’s little baby! She rides on Nancy’s shoulder in the car and sleeps with her every night. Being away from her has been heartbreaking for Nancy! But God is so good and Nancy is so grateful for all the love, prayers and support during this time!!
