Sweet Layla’s Battle with Leukemia

Donation protected
Hello everyone, I am Wylie’s cousin, Chelsea. I asked Wylie and Stephanie if I could set up a way for family, friends, and other generous supporters to show our love to their family during this time. I’d love to share their story with you all!

While battling through various illnesses since January 3rd, with new symptoms arising daily, Layla’s parents knew something wasn’t right. Her little body wasn’t able to fight off things and she was experiencing back pain and was extremely lethargic, on top of many other viral respiratory illnesses and infections. After multiple trips to the doctor and ER with no significant improvement, during a trip to the ER on January 23rd, Layla was diagnosed with Leukemia.

She was transported that day to the ICU in Springfield, then flown to St. Jude’s in Memphis, Tennessee. Her mom, Stephanie, who is currently 19 weeks pregnant with their 4th baby girl, was able to fly with her, while her dad, Wylie, drove down to join them. Her official diagnosis is Acute Myeloid Leukemia. They believe they caught it early, and have already began treatment. They expect the initial stay to be at least a month, but it could be much longer.

This is not something you can ever prepare for and it’s so hard when it’s a child. Layla is the most precious, silly 6 year old girl and her life, as well as her family’s, have been turned upside down. There are so many unknowns still and Wylie is currently off work, without pay, so he can be with his daughter and wife at St. Jude’s.

We would love to show them how loved and prayed over they are, as well as support them during this difficult time, so they can focus on Layla and getting her back to being her healthy, silly self! Please consider giving whatever you feel would bless them and together we can all make this burden lighter for this amazing family! I know Wylie, Stephanie, and their girls will appreciate every bit of prayers, love and support as they walk this journey.

God bless you all for giving ❤️
