Hi! I'm Haze. I am a 3-month-old tuxedo kitten. I am your typical kitten who loves to eat, play, and sleep. Pouncing on my 20 lb foster brother is one of my favorite activities.
I came to my foster parents with my 3 siblings when we were just a week old. We didn't have a mommy, so my foster parents bottle fed us and did all the other mommy things to keep us healthy.
When I was about 6 weeks old, I had the sudden urge to attack my tail. My foster mom and dad rushed me to urgent care, where we learned that I may have a condition called Feline Hyperesthesia Syndrome (FHS). I can't help it. I have mutilated my tail to the point where I need to have at least the tip amputated. OUCH!
My foster parents are trying to help me raise money for my surgery, recovery, and for medication to manage my FHS. It may take some trial and error, but I will be the best kitty once I'm all better. I currently rock a paper plate around my neck to prevent me from biting my tail. Although it doesn't slow me down much, I'd prefer to not wear it.
I will be up for adoption through the Virginia Beach Animal Care and Adoption Center when I'm feeling better. Can you believe my adoption fee is only $1.00?!?!? I think I'm worth more than that, puuuurrrsonally. My 3 siblings have all been adopted.
Please help me with my surgery so I can live my best kitty life! - Haze
