Sweet Dog Jake Needs an MRI

Jake is a shelter dog at the Marshfield Animal Shelter (a no-kill , town owned shelter). He is 6 to 8 years old and part American Staffordshire Terrier, Boxer and Rotteweiler. Jake loves all people and children, other dogs not so much. He has quickly become a favorite at the shelter with his sweetness and eagerness to please. He has a quirky bark to greet you each time you enter the shelter. He loved car rides and lounging on a blanket at the beach. Jake is most likely the nicest dog to come through our shelter in years.
Jake recently became ill, having difficulty with balance and with standing. Jake has been examined by 3 veterinarians, including one neurologist. They recommend an MRI to diagnose the cause and determine treatment. The cost of the MRI is estimated at $4,300 to $5,300. The Friends of theMarshfield Animal Shelter have already spent $1,200 on Jake's veterinary needs. We are committed to getting Jake the MRI, but we need your help to pay for it and give him a chance at a good quality of life and a forever home. Unfortunately, however, there is no guarantee that the results of the MRI will disclose a cause that is curable or even manageable through treatment. This is a risk we are willing to take with the hope of restoring Jake's quality of life.
