Hi! I'm Sam Villarreal, owner and creator of San Antonio’s local Sweet Cheeks Bake Shop.
I’m beyond excited to announce, after almost 10 years as a home-based bakery business, and popping up wherever anyone is kind enough to let us set up, we finally have the opportunity to go to the next level! By expanding our business into a brick and mortar, we would be able to meet our customer's demands and establish Sweet Cheeks Bake Shop in our community.
We have launched this GoFundMe intending to raise $10,000 to earn the funds necessary to open our first brick-and-mortar. We have found the perfect location, but it needs a little love (and $$$$) to make it our own and turn-key ready. Our dream has always been to have a space we can bake from and host culinary workshops; this location would be a great starting point.
At the heart of central San Antonio, we will finally be easily accessible. Bonus, the location is directly across the street from our children's school! How amazing is that? My mama heart would be so content.
Our Story
Sweet Cheeks Bake Shop was born in late 2016 and has been 100% self-funded. Upon graduating from The Culinary Institute of America, San Antonio, in 2010, I worked in the Catering and Food Manufacturing industry; specializing in Quality Assurance and Food Safety until the summer of 2021.
Sweet Cheeks began as a part-time business providing large quantity custom sweets for corporate events. Fast forward several years and thousands of hand-decorated cookies later, Sweet Cheeks Bake Shop is now operating as a full-time business servicing the greater San Antonio area. We specialize in unique, custom-decorated cookies, cake pops, cupcakes, and cakes for all occasions and special events. We’ve brought our love of baking and culinary training to our gourmet treats. Driven by passion and attention to detail, I'm beyond proud of what this tiny bake shop has already accomplished.
Thank you for believing in us. We wouldn’t be here without our community and friends and family's encouragement and advocation. It truly takes a village, and we have the best one.
Investing in bigger, better equipment and more space will allow us to expand hours and increase production. Most importantly, having a physical retail space will mean walk-up service. Our goal is to be in and operating by early July 2023. What a way to celebrate my 35th birthday!
Chances are you’ve already supported us in so many ways, but if you can help me take this critical step, I will make sure your contribution goes to good use. With a successful GoFundMe, we can continue towards our sweet dreams.
With Love,
Sam Villarreal
