Chamu was found in Mexico last October with a broken leg and was adopted the same month. Sadly she developed juvenile cataracts a few months later, and her adoptive home was no longer suitable for a blind dog. Chamu was returned to the rescue in April and placed into a foster home early May. I adopted the sweet Chamu from the rescue knowing she's blind, currently on eye drops to reduce pain and swelling. Surgery to remove her eyes was in her future, as the eye drops wouldn't work forever. The future is now.
It's been a rough and expensive year already with my last girl, Amelia getting very sick in January, visiting the vet daily, and finally losing her battle. Follow that with my cat Stinker requiring surgery to remove a massive stone in May. I'm still paying these vet bills. When I read through Chamu's information, I found her surgery is going to be much more expensive than expected and she also needs extensive dental work. Overwhelmed much? Yes, I am. So, here I am, doing what I'm terrible at. Asking for help.
Anything you donate will be used for Chamu's surgery and vet bills. If people are more generous than my personal needs for her, I will donate any overage to The Barking Lot, the rescue who gave Chamu her chance for a better life. I love this girl already, and if you get the chance to meet her in person, you'll love her too.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read all of this and thank you for helping.
