To all of you who know our family, Bucky is the most beloved canine brother to Gus and Grace and has likely smothered you with affection if you have been in our home. Our precious boy was hit by a car Saturday evening and was critically injured. With many caring neighbors, we got Bucky to the CARE Emergency Pet Hospital in WIlliamsburg, where he was lovingly cared for by their entire team. We are eternally grateful that Bucky survived but has a long road to recovery. While he sustained pulmonary contusions, broken ribs, oral fractures, and other bruising/abrasions, the CARE team restored breathing and stabilized the thoracic trauma. By Monday morning, we were able to bring him home. As the costs for diagnostics and care were laid before us, it was inconceivable that we choose anything but to accept the debt for his sweet life willingly. Today we are so grateful and blessed he is with us, but the reality is that the initial $7,000 cost will continue to grow.
