Sweating for Sheet – running 5K to support our school
Hi everyone!
I'm Sarah, a 41 year old mother and proud supporter of Friends of Sheet Primary School charity. This October, I’m taking on a big personal challenge, and I would love your support.
After recovering from an ankle injury and finding myself far from my best fitness, I decided to make a change. Inspired by my little boy's enthusiasm for the junior park run, I’ve slowly started improving my fitness by joining him and his friends on his runs. Now, I’ve committed to something much bigger: running the Great South Run 5k on the 19th of October!
This race is not just a solo journey. This is a weekend of running! My awesome friends will be running alongside me, and my little boy and his Sheet school friends (pictured above) are taking part in the Mini Great South Run 1.2k. Meanwhile, my husband and his friends will be tackling the main event - 16k! We’ll all be out there over the weekend, bright and early, from 10am on the Saturday - cheering each other on every step of the way.
I’m running to raise funds for my sons school, Friends of Sheet Primary School, an incredible charity that provides invaluable support and opportunities for the students of Sheet. Every donation will help enrich the learning experience for the children, from extracurricular activities to essential classroom resources.
Your contribution, no matter how small, would mean the world to me. It will not only motivate me and other runners to push through the challenges of race day but also make a lasting impact on the school community. Thank you for your generosity, support, and encouragement as I take on this exciting challenge!
Let’s make a difference together!
Thanks
Sarah
