SWAYZE’s EMERGENCY HOSPITAL FUND:

 WE NEED YOUR HELP

Hello friends and family. As some of you know, I recently rescued an 11-month Anatolian shepherd puppy. He lived next door and was being abused, starving, and very neglected. Although I wasn’t looking to take another animal in, the horrific situation made it impossible for me to ignore. I renamed him Swayze because he’s a very handsome boy. And quite the ladies man(puppy)  I’ve been showing Swayze a beautiful new life over the past couple months, but as luck would have it, just days before his scheduled vet appointment to get his puppy vaccinations, Swayze contracted the parvovirus.

If you are unfamiliar, the parvovirus attacks the G.I. Tract making it impossible to eat or drink. Swayze endured a week of I.V’s, feeding tubes through his mouth and nose and sat in isolation feeling awful and alone during this time. I am happy to report a full recovery is on the horizon, but it came with a heavy price tag.  The bill has come to over $8000 for the week stay plus his intensive around the clock treatment.   As life goes sometimes, go figure, the timing for me could not be worse.  I often have funds set aside for emergencies, but the care of my own dog with cancer plus other recent life events have left me unprepared for such an extreme financial undertaking.  

Swayze deserves to live, so his care in this situation was the only option.  Now, however, I am left to suck up my pride a bit and ask if any of my friends/family might be able to contribute to this cause.  Swayze and I will be FOREVER grateful for any donation made. This has been a mentally and financially draining process…. But one lil guy at a time…. I’m always here to help the animals.
