Swawou School for Girls changes lives, in one of the poorest countries in the world.

Education is not a given for everyone, and in Sierra Leone, the economic problems seen since the country’s civil war have really affected children’s education. Girls in particular have been affected and not returned to school in high numbers.

Girls can also suffer from physical and sexual violence either at or on their way to school. In poorer communities, girls can be required to stay at home to support domestic duties, or even be married off as a young teenager. Keeping more girls in quality education makes a real difference – not only to the girls, but to their families and communities.

LBR&ALM fully funds Swawou through a corporate donation.

That donation is boosted by our staff’s generosity - incredibly, our employees have to date this year raised £5000 for the school. This is a momentous level of support that we all should be incredibly proud of. THANK YOU.

On the 13th of December, Victor Babatunde, Samantha Joseph and Clare Bolton will be visiting Swawou. They will be taking presents and critical items for the girls, such as reading and crafting materials, hygiene items, and Christmas presents. Employees are invited to support and donate to buy the gifts for the girls :)
