Swanton Quiz Bowl Trip to Nationals

As many of you already know, the Swanton quiz bowl team qualified for NAQT nationals, which will take place on Saturday, April 28th and Sunday, April 29th in Chicago, Illinois.  As you can imagine, such a trip is costly, and even though the school district, as well as a number of local businesses and charitable individuals, have been very generous in helping us defray some of the costs, we are still short of our fundraising goals.  

For those of you who are unfamiliar with quiz bowl, it is an academic competition where teams answer questions in a variety of subject areas (i.e. American literature, US history, physical science, geography, fine arts, mathematics, etc).that delve deeply into high school and college curriculum but also go beyond the bounds of what is normally taught in school.   Students frequently have to supplement what they already know by studying content areas and practicing multiple times a week to succeed in such competitions.  

The Swanton quiz bowl team has truly excelled over the past two years, winning numerous tournaments, placing second and third, respectively, in the league, and this trip to nationals is a culmination of all of the hard work and determination that has brought that success.  They have truly earned the right to compete on a national stage.  All money raised here will go towards covering all expenses associated with the trip and the competition itself.  Any amount you are willing to give would be greatly appreciated.
