Don Swanson Workshop Rebuild
Donation protected
Donald Swanson, a Flagstaff local known for his uniquely beautiful furniture made of alligator juniper, lost his uninsured workshop to fire. The fire destroyed all his tools, work sheds and the majority of trees on his forested 2.5 acre property on the Rio de Flag near Flagstaff, AZ on September 14th and 15th. Arson is suspected and an investigation is underway.
Don's workshop had been the foundation of his livelihood, where he worked and lived for the past 45 years. His chairs, rockers, and tables can be found in homes throughout the US and in fine galleries in Northern Arizona.
Don and his wife Frances raised their four children on the property and lived there together until her death from cancer in 2017. As you can imagine, the loss of Don's creative and professional space has been very hard on him and his family.
Financial assistance will help rebuild Don's workshop, replace lost and destroyed tools, clear his property of debris, clear 80 damaged ponderosa pine trees, and re-vegetate his devastated property.
Please help if you can!
