I am extremely grateful to all those who helped me four years ago after my amputation. I have gone through a great number of trials and tribulations since then, including a bad car accident (my car was totaled, but no one was injured) and a person who shared my house for a couple of years, but then moved out and cheated me out of a large amount of money. My business of forty years (teaching guitar lessons and yoga classes) faltered a few years ago due to a combination of Covid and my amputation. I am now starting to rebuild my guitar teaching business, and have been hired at a couple of music stores, but it is proving to be a very slow, grueling process to get enough students. Despite the fact that every music store which I've contacted calls my resume and CD "very impressive", most of them have turned me down, presumably due to my turban and/or my age (I'm 68). Over the last few years, I have been forced to pawn a large number of my most cherished belongings, including a few of my most expensive guitars. I have lost some of these items to the pawn shop, and am in danger of losing quite a few more in the immediate future.
My niece and her family recently moved in with me (I raised her and her two siblings for twelve years). That has helped greatly with the rent, but I am still struggling with the pawn shop fees and my other bills. My niece and her family may get their own place in the near future. I am seriously considering getting a temporary job, perhaps at Walmart, until my teaching business is back on its feet.
I am currently still confined to a wheelchair; I've attained a prosthetic foot through a charitable organization, and am in the process of learning how to use it. I do a healthy amount of yoga and meditation daily, which, frankly, is what has kept me from committing suicide over the last several decades. I also do several prosperity meditations and Shabads daily. I am embarrassed about asking for help again, but, due to the circumstances, am nonetheless requesting help from anyone who finds it in their heart.
Thank you very much. Love and Blessings, Sat Nam.
