SWA relief for Jared

At the beginning of October this year, Brittany Hanson, wife of SWA ATL second year FO Jared Hanson and mother of their 15 year-old son Kaden, made the hardest decision of her life to cease cancer treatment. This fundraiser is for the Hanson family to have the ability to spend precious time with each other without financial stress.

              Brittany was first diagnosed on December 3, 2013, with breast cancer. After a double mastectomy and several rounds of chemo and radiation, she was "cancer free" for several years. In 2016, the cancer resurfaced. Over the past several years, Brittany has endured over 80 rounds of IV chemo treatments, oral chemo, 50 rounds of radiation including gamma knife radiation on her brain and multiple surgeries to help slow the progression of the horrible disease.

         Just this past year, the cancer has spread to her liver and has made it impossible for her body to process the most recent chemo drug. With painful mouth sores preventing her from eating a normal diet, joint pain and severe fatigue, Brittany, with the support of Jared, has decided to stop all preventative treatment so she can concentrate on spending time with her husband Jared, their 15 year-old son Kaden and close family members. Brittany’s warrior spirit will not be broken! She is a fighter and will continue her positive outlook on this very troubling situation.
