Hi my name is Allison. I am fundraising to help my niece,Martina with her medical expenses. On Jan 9, 2022 Marti was taken to hospital after experiencing a brief illness and flu like symptoms. Once at the hospital she went into a cardiac arrest and has been in a coma ever since. Her parents are with her and so far tests are all showing positive signs for recovery, but the extent of the neurological damage is still unknown. Marti will require additional home supports and transportation to and from physio and diabetes clinic appointments. We are hoping to help her alleviate the stress of financial burdens and rent until she can get back on her feet and back to work/school. This morning (Friday) the doctors extubated her and put her on a breathing mask. Initial tests went well, but have unfortunately shown that she cannot maintain this and she has been reintubated for the weekend. More tests scheduled. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers…
