My name is Stephanie Berbec, and I’m Beth’s niece. As many of you are aware, Beth suffered a major stroke on Monday, March 20th, 2023 while making her routine trip to Winston-Salem to pick up hair supplies for her salon. That she was already in Winston, and so close to Forsyth hospital, was a factor that saved her life — doctors were able to get to work on her within minutes. It is a miracle that she is still with us today.

Beth was in the hospital for 18 days. And inpatient rehab for 13 days. She is now home, but has speech, occupational, and/or physical therapy in Winston-Salem multiple days a week and still requires 24/7 care. She has regained the ability to walk and is getting better with her speech daily. However, she is still suffering from paralysis in her right arm. Due to her physical condition and continual appointments, she is unable to work and still has a long road to recovery.

As many of you know, Beth is an incredibly private person. Yet she is the first to give and do for others as soon as a need arises. After countless requests from people in the community asking to help, we have decided to open a GoFundMe to help Beth get on her feet again and support her through a full recovery. It’s our turn to help her. Donations received will go directly to Beth’s account.
