I am reaching out for my sister and her family…
My sister Amie and her husband Joel recently learned that their sweet, two year old daughter Abigail has been diagnosed with a brain tumor. Her symptoms came on suddenly, and after incredible care at Riverbend, she has been transported to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital preparing for surgery that is scheduled to happen tomorrow. The doctors are very hopeful for a positive outcome, but a lot of work is to be done, and lots of prayers and blessings appreciated.
Big sister Lucy is staying in Springfield with family while Amie and Joel are in Portland with Abigail during this challenging and uncertain time. The family is showering her in love, and doing our best to make her feel all of the love and support she could possibly need while the rest of her family is away.
Because this diagnosis came suddenly, I’m reaching out to ask for support for Amie and Joel to help cover the cost of their travel, to and from Portland, Joel’s time away from work, and the extensive medical expenses that are being incurred. We do not know what Abby’s recovery will be, or how long she will be at Doernbecher’s.
As you can imagine, I am deeply concerned for my niece, my sister's family, and all that lies ahead. If you can, please support Amie, Joel, and Lucy, as we all wrap our hearts around Abby and pray for her healing and recovery. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I will continue to provide updates.
Thank you, Natalie Nicholls
