Help Jake to Walk Again

Jake Strickland has been through a lot but this has to be one of his toughest fights yet.

Jake was riding a scooter when he ran into a break in the asphalt. The scooter stopped but Jake did not. He flew off at 18 mph landing on his left hip smashing the hip and femur bone. Once on the hot asphalt unable to stand up he was yelling and screaming for help only to have people in the nearby apartments open and close their blinds and several drivers pull up next to him, make eye contact with him, and drive around him and the scooter in the road leavjng him.

He was finally taken to the hospital via ambulance and a lot of scans and tests were done. He has had one major surgery in which the surgeon literally hammered a titanium rod down his femur bone and several bolts to hold everything together. He was in the hospital for over a week and then moved to a rehabilitation facility to work with the physical and orthopedic therapist.

Due to the severity of his break and the surgery he is not able to walk or stand on his own at this point. A you can imagine this is turned his life upside down as he is no longer able to do anything on his own including work as his time is dedicated to his recovery. Your donation will allow Jake to focus on his recovery and not worried how he will be paying for medical and other costs.
