Hi! My name is Kirk, and this Bubbie (The prestigious Lord Bubbie McBubsworth of Bubbington)
Bubbie has hard a bit of a raw deal for such an innocent and sweet boy. He was originally owned by a "Breeder" and kept primarily in a cage for the first 3 years of his life. Bubbie us afflicted with chronic "dry eye" and this person was treating it with visine rather than the proper medicated drops he needed. By the time Bubbie came into my care, this neglect for his eyes had left him mostly blind at the young age of 3. He was also 20 lbs underweight (he is a 50lb dog), had bacterial infection in both ears, and both eyes, and was also riddled with bacterial and fungal infections all over his body and in his paws.
When we originally took him to the vet they told me that his recovery would be long, and he'd fight many of these issues for his whole life "There would be no shame in letting him go." She said. But I could let this dog pass from this world having only known suffering. His recovery involved medicated baths, medicated drops for his ears and eyes, as well as antibiotics.
His vision never recovered, but he's grown into a happy healthy young lad. As the years have gone by he still requires bi-weekly medicated baths, hypoallergenic dry and wet food. 2 types of eyedrops each given 3 times a day as well as an oral pill to help relieve his itchiness. Bubbie costs me over 500$ a month in just his basic needs, but I am committed to making this dog FEEL like he is loved and cherished.
He is about 7 years old now and has developed some lumps on his eyes, a specialist believes it is a type of corneal cancer common in dogs afflicted with chronic dry eye. Long story short, in order to continue his life with me, this poor boy needs to have his eyes removed.
Im already stretched quite thin on just his basic needs, but he still has a lot of life in him, and deserves to have as much time as possible feeling the love he was deprived of at the beginning of his life.
Im begging for your help with his surgery, any little bit helps.
