New Hope Rescue Inc. was launched in 2013 by Joann Roof as a nonprofit 501c(3) rescue focused on finding homes for abandon and abused animals. New Hope Rescue has become one of the largest rescues in the Colorado Springs area. We chose the rescue's name, because we give dogs on death row “New Hope” for good life and a forever family. Our founder Joann Roof has a PHD in Biblical Counseling from Louisiana Baptist University and has a passion for serving our community and animals. When Joann was a around 16 years old when she started visiting a friend's grandmother, Mrs. Myers in a nursing home. Mrs. Myers was very said and her doctor was concerned about her depression. She often talked about a cat she use to have called Tiger. Through these visits Joann began to see how lonely the woman was and asked her mother if she could get the grandmother a cat. Joann scoured the newspapers and thrifty nickel until she found an add for barn kittens, the poor little one she chose was sick with a runny nose and its eyes were stuck shut. She took it home and nursed it back to health. Once it was healthy the young Miss Joann took the kitten to Mrs. Myers, helped her take care for it and promptly named it Tigger. Eventually, the cat became know as the emotional support cat for entire the nursing home. He helped ease the loneliness of all the elderly residence with his sweet and friendly antics. So began Joann’s commitment to serving her community and caring for lost and abused animals. New Hope Rescue and Joann Roof are currently under fire. Please join us by posting your adoption stories and donating to the Go Fund Me site. Proceeds directly benefit New Hope Rescue and Joann in their current battle to remain open and committed to finding forever homes for lost and abused animals.
New Hope Rescue Inc. NEEDS YOUR HELP! The Colorado Department of Agriculture and the Humane Society have abused their power. We want to keep saving animals. These fur-kids have no chance without us! With your help we can keep our rescue and hit the ground running when our name is cleared. Just keeping our rescue space ready for animals will cost 24k over the next 4 months. Our legal fees are upwards of 30k We humbly ask Can you help?
