** Update** GREAT NEWS! We just received a phone call from Northwest Arkansas Animal Rescue, Shelter and Adoption (soon to be called Nurture Northwest Arkansas) and they have volunteered to MATCH our fundraising goal once we hit $435.00! They recognize the need for the trap to help further rescue efforts in the NWA area and have shown their support in a BIG way! http://www.NWAARSA.org
The fundraising goal is $870.00. We have currently raised $140.00 in less than 24 hours. Let's reach our new goal of $435.00 so that the kind folks at NWA ARSA (Nurture Northwest Arkansas) can match our efforts and help us reach our goal. That means currently we only have $295.00 to raise to reach our goal. We can do this!
This humane trap was set to help catch a mama dog and her pups in Avoca, Arkansas. It was chained to a tree for safe keeping while trying to safely bring the mama and her pups to safety. The person that stole the trap cut down the tree to take it. A police report was filed and everyone is hopeful that the person that stole the trap will be caught or return it. In the meantime, there are animals in our area that need immediate medical attention.
The humane trap is used by multiple shelters and rescues in Northwest Arkansas to help save feral cats and dogs that need help but are too timid or afraid of people. The trap is used to bring dogs and cats to safety so that they can get the medical care they need as well as spayed and neutered.
The cost of the trap is expensive because it is shipped already assembled and must be shipped LTL/large freight on a certain type of delivery truck.
Any amount donated is greatly appreciated! I know we can reach the goal amount in no time to help the animals in our community get the love and attention they so desperately need but are too afraid to receive. Any additional funds raised during our efforts will go towards spay and neutering shelter animals in Northwest Arkansas.
