Save Jasper: Urgent Medical Help Needed

My first cat: Jasper.

I was out walking my dogs in December of 2018 when Jasper followed me home. He had over 20 ticks and was emaciated. I was working 30+ hours, taking 16+ hours of college courses, and had 2 dogs, yet Jasper somehow fit into my life so well.

I decided to keep him and he’s been the best cat I could ask for. A couple of days ago, Jasper started squatting like he needed to pee, but nothing was coming out. I tried to pick him up, but he growled in pain. He also started throwing up a clear slimy fluid. We went to Honnas Veterinary where he was diagnosed with a partial urinary blockage. We were sent home with prescription food, a pain medication, and an anti-inflammatory.

We get the urinalysis today, but there is a likelihood this could be idiopathic. In that case, if there is no improvement by tomorrow around noon, then he’ll need to place a catheter and keep him for an overnight stay. Honnas Veterinary has quoted us the cost of his care and I cannot afford it.

I didn’t get accepted for Affirm, Scratch Pay, or Care Credit. I’ve reached out to Honnas, PASS, Emancipet, Veterinary Surgery Solutions, the Pet Resource Center at Austin Animal Center, and Friends of AAC.

I do not want Jasper to go through the trauma of being surrendered to Austin Animal Center to receive care. I do not want to go through the trauma of possibly losing one of my best friends because AAC cannot guarantee I would be allowed to adopt him again.

I'm open to any and all suggestions. I just want Jasper to be safe and healthy.
