Hi, this is Megan, Rachel’s best friend, BFF, number one, first phone call, sister I never had.

3 weeks ago Rachel’s world was flipped upside down; what we thought was a routine ultrasound turned into the most life altering situation anyone could’ve imagined.

Fast forward to an appt at Sloan, she was told surgery would need to be done to assess her abdomen for further spreading of ovarian cancer.

While in surgery, they realized the worst; that the cancer had spread from her ovaries to surrounding organs; uterus, spleen, appendix, diaphragm, and omentum. After an extensive surgery where as much affected organs/tissue were removed, Rachel is admitted to Sloan for what we think is about a week to recover before continuing her recovery at home.

Because of the additional finding during surgery Rachel’s recovery will be extended significantly and will be out of work for an unknown about of time. Because of the severity and spread of the cancer further treatment is in store for Rachel.

I know a lot of people have reached out looking to see how to help and support Rachel and Brian during this tough time; her family agrees that this would be that best way so she can use the funds as she sees fit. Any amount will help, we just want to alleviate stress from Rachel and Brian so they can focus on her health and their families.
