SVG Volcano Relief-Marlon Roudette-Dan Caplen

Throughout April of 2021 La Soufrière Volcano in St. Vincent erupted repeatedly causing huge damage and the displacement of residents in the Northern and Central areas of the island. The immediate aftermath wreaked havoc ranging from the contamination of water supplies to the destruction of property and farmlands.

Using Marlon's past experience with raising funds for disaster relief we were able to manage donations carefully using accurate information from our locally appointed teams of volunteers on the ground. 

Thanks to your donations we provided relief vehicles with fuel so that they could deliver supplies to communities in need. We purchased huge quantities of baby supplies, clothing, food and medical supplies and coordinated their distribution throughout the island. We also chartered two yachts from Martinique to sail in with bottled water and blow up mattresses. 

None of this would have been possible without our dedicated team of volunteers on the ground who worked tirelessly throughout the weeks and months that followed the eruption. 

We have now moved into the longer term phase of our relief project providing materials to assist with rebuilding, agricultural supplies to help restart farming and the sponsoring of cultural community projects as the island comes to terms with the trauma of what happened. 

Marlon Roudette and Dan Caplen are British/Vincentian recording artists and songwriters. Dan was on the island at the time and experienced the eruptions first hand. Marlon was appointed cultural ambassador to St. Vincent and the Grenadines in 2015.

We are working closely (on a pro-bono basis) with Fi Titus, a British-Vincentian ACA chartered accountant who is holding us accountable with meticulous record keeping of the relief effort to be made available publicly - We owe it to our donors to be as transparent as possible.
