Hi, my name is Vlada Shevchenko, and I am fundraising towards my mother’s funeral. This past Saturday, January 24th 2026, my mother passed away at the hospital at 11:30pm. My mother was battling with stage 4 colon cancer the past two years, and through all of her treatments she remained incredibly strong and was forever the backbone for our family. My parents immigrated to Canada from Odessa in 1999, to provide opportunities for my brothers and I. My mother was the biggest supporter for us, especially my father, whom she was married to for the past 42 years. When I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when I was 4 years old, my mother put her life and career to the side to help take care of me, demonstrating her compassion and care for our family. Without my mother, I wouldn’t have been able to become the woman I am today. This is a very difficult time for us and we would love to commemorate her at her funeral. As we did not expect to lose my mother so soon, any support towards her funeral costs would be greatly appreciated.
