Sven Devan Blumquist Memorial Fund ---
Sven Devan Blumquist was a spirited young man with a heart of gold. He touched the lives of many and anyone lucky enough to have known him would tell you that he was one of the most genuine people to ever walk this Earth. A true adventurer at heart, this past 4th of July weekend, Sven set off for his 5th The Great Blue Heron Festival, in Sherman, NY. The Heron is a place that means so much for so many, and Sven was no exception.
Around 2am early Saturday morning, Sven heard music playing in the distance and set off from his campsite to seek it out. That was the last time that any of his friends saw him. His belongings were left behind, yet he didn't return for them.
Sven was officially reported missing the following Monday, and his friends and family tirelessly spent days searching desperately for any sign of him.

His sister, Heather Burkett, organized the search, contacting everyone she could think of, and keeping all of his friends and family updated through social media. Despite the dire situation and the many obstacles which she faced, Heather maintained the same unwavering spirit and optimism for which Sven was known. Days passed, yet she did not become discouraged. Many of us believed that he had simply taken off on another beautiful adventure, blissfully unaware of how worried we all were.
Tragically, and against everyone's deepest hopes, Sven would not make it back home to his loved ones.

With much love,
