Reaching For Gold

I'm fundraising for the main characters in my new documentary - Reaching For Gold.

The documentary features an Olympian resolute in his goal to nurture champions no matter what. Effiong represented Nigeria in the Olympics in Athens, and his desire to raise other Olympians is tested by realities of poor facilities and athletes who have to juggle a full-time life with a sports career, all without support from the government or other organisations.

The story of Dorcas and Idara is the archetypal story of many Nigerians who swim against the tide (of infrastructural deficit, laxity of government intervention, absolute neglect) to still compete on a global stage.

The entire funds will go directly to them.
