New Hope Animal Rescue
Donation protected
Hi everyone
So…… having unexpectedly got a place in the London Marathon on 2 October I have decided to run the 26.2 miles to help raise funds for New Hope Animal Rescue.
I've been volunteering at New Hope for the last three years.
New Hope is a rescue dedicated to saving animals on death row or those in immediate danger due to medical/behavioural issues.
The rescue is run by Niall Lester and Steph Derry. As well as holding down full time jobs Steph and Niall manage the rescue across two sites ; a sanctuary in Herne Bay; home to over 300 rescued animals including many farm animals, birds, small animals and the sanctuary cats and dogs and kennels in Dartford for those dogs in desperate need of a short term safe space.
The rescue relies on donations. Animals are rescued daily and vet bills can run into thousands of pounds for one animal.
I adopted my little Jack Russell - Tidus - from New Hope two years ago. They had taken him in to their care as a sick dog who had run out of options. They raised funds to pay for a complex operation that was ultimately successful and I met the little chap whilst he was recovering at the sanctuary. He is now living a very happy life with my other two dogs. The love and laughs he has given our family has been so precious. I don’t know where we would be without him .
There are so many animals just like Tidus who desperately need that second chance, but that costs money - Niall and Steph have the expertise and the contacts to save them but need the financial support to throw them that lifeline.
Any donation you are able to give would make a world of difference to Niall, Steph and these animals.
Thank you!
