Dear friends,
We are reaching out on behalf of our dear sister, Suzy Ortiz, a wife and loving mother of two. Suzy has always been known for her bright, bubbly, and energetic spirit. She brings joy to those around her, and her lively presence has been a source of encouragement to us all.
Sadly, Suzy has been diagnosed with bilateral degenerative inherited cortopathy, which is rapidly taking away her ability to hear. This has not only affected her ability to work and support her family but has also affected spiritually and emotionally leaving her feeling isolated and deeply discouraged. For someone who thrives on being with people, the silence has been devastating.
Through medical studies and consultations, it has been discovered that a special adaptive cochlear implants can help restore some of her hearing ability. This will give Suzy precious time to adjust, regain her confidence, and continue learning sign language as a more long-term solution. Most importantly, it will help her better reconnect with her family, her congregation, and the world around her.
We are asking for your support to help make this possible since the Ortiz family are of very little means and cannot afford the implants which cost in total about $120,000MXN ($6,000USD). Any contribution—big or small—will go directly toward covering the cost of her implants and giving Suzy the gift of sound once more.
Your generosity will not only help restore her hearing but also her joy, her energy, and her ability to keep caring for her family and serving Jehovah with the zeal she’s always had.
Thank you so much for your love, kindness, and practical support.
With warm Christian love,
Jehu and Abby Peterkin
