Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Souls,

My spouse, Suzie, has historically worked as a psychiatric nurse, and most recently as a hospice nurse, pouring her heart into caring for others, bringing comfort and dignity to patients in their final days. Her compassion is legendary—her patients and colleagues call her a damn good nurse! Now, Suzie needs your help to fight for her life against ovarian cancer.

Since her diagnosis in September 2024, Suzie hasn't been able to work, focusing all her strength on battling this relentless disease. Suzie has recently hit a wall with her traditional chemotherapy treatments, finding that the last few treatments have become ineffective in reducing this fast growing cancer, and she became so gravely ill from the treatments that it was no longer safe to continue with this plan. She was told she could go to the next best medication that offers only a 20%-30% chance of being effective. And it was proposed that she continue down this road of trying the "next best" (or worse) chemo medication until she could no longer tolerate it, and would then be offered comfort care or hospice. Suzie and her family found this path unacceptable, and I, our children, and family began to explore alternative and holistic treatment modalities. Through prayer and research, we have thankfully landed at An Oasis of Healing in Mesa, AZ, where Suzie was approved for treatment. Due to the imminent need for treatment measures, Suzie and I have made the trip to Arizona where she recently began her holistic/integrative care. These doctors offer her an 80% chance of living her full, natural life cancer-free through integrative therapies that heal without toxic side effects! And this gives us great hope! Some amazing people in our lives put together and held a benefit concert for Suzie which raised the money to get us here and get started. But, we are far short of our fundraising goal and do not have enough money for Suzie to complete the treatment course.

This treatment comes with a hefty cost that isn't covered by insurance, and we need more help to save her life! The treatment plan they've designed for Suzie at An Oasis of Healing has a cost of over $100,000 for the 8-week program. In addition, we have costs for lodging, meals, travel, and incidentals that we anticipate to total approximately $11,000. Given these costs, and the lost wages from Suzie's inability to work since September, our goal is $200,000. And, thanks to the incredible concert fundraiser held, a prior GoFundMe, and Venmo donations, many have so generously donated $43,000 already! Yet, we urgently need $157,000 more to complete this treatment, as making payments for the cost is not an option.
