Suzanne Sullivan's Breast Cancer Fund

This GoFundMe is to pay for the comfort and care of Suzanne Sullivan in the last chapter of her brief, wonderful life.

Last year, at 58-years-old, Suzanne was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer when it was found metastasized as a tumor in her brain.

After multiple surgeries, treatments, and radiation sessions throughout her body, her oncology doctors have now strongly recommended hospice care over further curative measures, where comfort and ease-of-pain will be the top priority. Their prognosis was that she no longer has enough strength to recover from further surgeries or treatments, which on their own would be too high-risk. Her cancer has spread throughout her lungs, liver, brain, and bones. Her breathing is quick and labored due to a collapsed left lung.

Her out-of-pocket monthly cost of living in a personal care home is $6,000 per month which covers lodgings, home-cooked food, and 24/7 1:1 attention and care by a lovely couple in their quiet cul de sac home in San Antonio, TX. Suzanne’s medicine, equipment, treatments, and daily certified medical visitations are thankfully covered in-full by her health insurance.

A daughter of God, Suzanne spent her entire adult life dedicated to the Christian faith. A devout tither, she's diligently sent her hard-earned money to various churches and evangelistic organizations for decades. Nobody as loving, generous, and full of forgiveness has ever come out of Massachusetts.

She has a mother, Carolyn,
3 siblings, John, Denise and Janet
and a son, Michael.

In her 20s, Suzanne raised Michael as a single mother in West Bridgewater, MA—an astounding feat that probably should have garnered journalistic attention.

She loves reading the Bible and listening to Christian teachings and music. She also loves dogs, especially the late Teddy Sullivan, an Oreo-colored sheltie, whose name in all its variations (and with random numbers) was a constant password staple (please don’t hack her). She loves speaking with a Boston accent—a stubborn rejection of the letter "R" in spite of her last decade living away from the south shore. Most of all, she loves laughing. She's no stranger to giggling at Pixar movies and silly Facebook dog videos that moms can’t help but paying forward. She likes Star Wars and thankfully was spared from seeing any past the seventh one. She has always considered moving to California or Florida. Anywhere with warm weather and a beach, really.

Suzanne most of all cares about the next generation, helping others, and easing their pain. From evangelizing in the inner-cities of Massachusetts early on, to working for many years in children’s ministry and formal childcare, to her most recent occupation of working for a non-profit that aided the homeless in Texas—she has always had the utmost concern and empathy for other human beings.

Suzanne's time on this planet will be all too brief, but she very much deserves to be comfortable and at peace for her duration. Any donations are immensely appreciated and will go directly toward her personal care home’s monthly cost and future funeral expenses.
