Suzanne needs a kidney
Donation protected
Hi, I am Suzanne Benton's sister, Jeannie, and my beautiful, loving, generous sister now needs your help. Suzanne, known to her friends as "Sunshine," needs a kidney. It may seem like just another GoFundMe, but to me, it is a lifeline for my sister. Already on dialysis, she hopes to be approved for a kidney transplant. I, as well as others, are being screened to be her live donor. If she is not approved or cannot find a live donor, she may wait five years for a transplant or stay on dialysis indefinitely. Added to the complications of dialysis and having a life-threatening illness is a substantial financial burden. The uncovered expenses for medications, tests, procedures, surgeries, and dialysis supplies have already rapidly piled up.
Additionally, Suzanne has been unable to work for months, and if approved for a transplant, her husband, Jason, will need to take an unpaid leave of absence from his position to care for her post-surgery in a rented home in Atlanta near Piedmont Transplant Center.
So many people have reached out to us and asked how they can help give back to a person who has given so much of herself to so many, and to that, I say, any way you can. Prayers, well-wishes, and healing vibes are all welcomed and encouraged. If you can make a monetary donation, no matter how small you may think it is; it would be a huge blessing to our family.
Thank you all for your support in her journey to better health.
